Without warning

All of the streams trapped underground or poisoned

Charles and Karen McFadden have collaborated for over 50 years in the peace, democratic, social justice and environmental movements of the people. A brief professional biography of Charles McFadden can be found here. Karen Howell McFadden (Ph.D. English literature, U of Toronto) is a poet, artist, teacher and literary scholar. While a political biography may never be attempted by us, this work is the trace of our experience and good fortune to know and work with revolutionary scientists, artists, and popular leaders in most parts of the world, on both sides of all the barriers the enemies of progress have attempted to construct.
